Want to know what’s in an extension file? You can xar the file in Terminal, or you can drop the safariextz file on this Apple script, which does this for you. The file will be unpacked into a folder on your Desktop.

Dimming Safari Reader’s background by Zeno Crivelli

A hack to dim the Safari Reader background with a simple mouse gesture by reducing its transparency (hence making it darker).

(Optionally, this hack can also restyle the Reader by replacing Palatino with Georgia, adding a paper-texture to the page background and using Helvetica Neue for the headings.)
