Tumblr Notifier by Ethan Sherbondy

Notifier was broken for a bit after Tumblr changed they way they handle new post notifications. I’m happy to report it’s now back up and running. If you have Safari and love getting notified when new content appears in your Dashboard, grab it! You don’t even need to enter your credentials anymore.

Source code is available as always.

I don’t usually repost the same extension, but it was a shame when this one stopped working. Good to have it back.

SE’s recent downtime

I would like to sincerely apologise for Safari Extensions’s recent downtime. As you probably know, Tumblr recently experienced (and continues to experience) some severe issues; since this is a Tumblr blog, Safari Extensions went right down with them.

Now that Tumblr is back on form—or at least, hopefully getting that way—we’ll be able to catch up on some delayed posts and post new extensions as they’re submitted.

Thanks very much for your patience!

Simplr by Jake Paul

A lightweight extension to restyle the Tumblr dashboard. Here’s what it does:
Helvetica instead of Arial.
Renders type using Safari 5’s new -webkit-font-smoothing property.
Changes the username links to the post permalink.
Replaces the post icons with a simple sidebar menu.
Makes the sidebar elements less glossy.
Hides tracked tags, radar, and suggestions.
Removes the gray border from the bottom of each post.
Gives the rounded corners a hint of subtlety.
Plus a handful of other minor stylistic changes (here’s a before/after GIF). The extension only kicks in on the dashboard and other pages that share the same layout (group blogs, likes, drafts, and queue). If you’re a developer, feel free to grab the GitHub project.

Jake Paul is also the creator of the Solstice theme used on Safari Extensions. His work on a quality theme played a major part in how quickly this site came into existence. Thanks, Jake!
