An Amazon search toolbar with links to commonly accessed areas of the site.
I’ll mention here that I have a deep and abiding hatred of browser toolbars, one I think is shared by much of the tech community. I’m going to end this post with a question mark so you can easily reply to let me know if you would rather not see any more of them (or at least not any that aren’t absolutely brilliant); if enough people say they don’t want to see them, I won’t post them here.

The font looks odd in the search box on the Windows version of Safari. It’s unreadable when you type in your search terms.

I too have a love hate relationship with toolbars. Create a floating toolbar to call up with single click when needed u wud have hero status

I think it’d be better if there was a way to tie them into the search bar- like Inquisitor does.

I wouldn’t rule them out entirely. But they have to have a very high benefit to required real estate ratio. I’m not sure this one qualifies.

Toolbars suck in general, but honestly, I’d rather know they exist and not use them then not know they exist at all.

Unless they’re the second coming in toolbar form, don’t bother — toolbars are rarely necessary or as useful as they should be.
